Welcome to Shorewood! My name is Sherri Blanchette, and I am thrilled to be the principal of this great learning community! It is truly an honor and privilege to work alongside the wonderful students, families, and educators of our Shorewood family. As building principal, my goal is to create a warm and safe learning environment, built upon strong, trusting relationships so each and every individual who enters our school home feels welcomed, empowered, and inspired to grow and learn!

This will be my sixth year as Principal at Shorewood, and my tenth year as an administrator in Troy. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Master of Arts Degree in Education Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University. Prior to teaching, I had the great joy of staying home with my children. I began teaching in the Bourbonnais Elementary School District in January 2005, where I taught 1st, 4th, and 5th grades. In July of 2015, I had the great opportunity to become a part of the Troy family when I was hired as the Assistant Principal at Troy Hofer Elementary School. I spent four wonderful years there before my ultimate dream became a reality when I was hired in 2019 as Principal of Troy Shorewood!

My husband Tim and I have been married for 37 years, and we are the proud parents of five boys. We have been blessed with two beautiful daughters in law, and we are thrilled to be grandparents to five of the most adorable grandchildren! We love spending time with our family and friends. And, when time allows, we enjoy traveling to the beach and playing pickleball.

Thank you for sharing your children with our Shorewood Family! As you are your child’s first and most important teacher, we value you and your partnership! I look forward to working together to ensure another joyful year of learning and growing!

Greetings Shorewood Families! My name is Danielle Wegner and I am Troy Shorewood’s assistant principal.  This year marks my 6th year as Shorewood’s assistant principal and it is truly both a privilege and pleasure to be a part of this amazing school community while serving among the best students, staff and families!

Prior to serving in Troy 30c School District, I began my teaching career as a 5th grade teacher for Ottawa Elementary School District and taught there for 9 years and then transitioned into my current position as Shorewood’s assistant principal. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and Master of Arts Degree in Educational Leadership at Aurora University. Prior to teaching, I worked as a licensed cosmetologist for 12 years while completing college coursework towards my undergraduate degree.

My husband Mike and I have been together for 20 years and married for 10. We are the proud parents of two purrfect fur babies, our cats Minnie and Daisy Mae. In my free time, my husband and I love to travel with our favorite places being Tennessee and Florida. I also love to read and enjoy attending sporting events as well as concerts.

I love every day that I get to spend interacting with our students. It is through these interactions that I am reminded how lucky I am to work with such a supportive, genuine and kind community. Troy Shorewood Elementary has so much to offer its students, and I am amazed at the commitment and passion to learning by all community members. When you enter the doors of Shorewood, we want you, your family, and your student(s) to feel comfortable, safe and have a sense of belonging. My door is always open for families and we value our partnerships and connections between home and school. Thank you for the opportunity to work with your children each and every day!
